Floyd Mayweather Jr. Targets Amir Khan to be his Next Opponent Instead of Pacquiao

In an interview, before the Ortiz vs Mayweather Fight, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has made a promise that he would fight the young boxer Amir Khan, if and only Khan beats Jessie Vargas first in their fight.
Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is bound to fight the current WBC Welterweight Champion Victor Ortiz this September 17, 2011, seems to be over confident that he is really the undefeated world boxer ever and he is only intended to fight great and deserving boxers alone. So does that mean that he is not going to fight Amir Khan once he fails to prove himself deserving to be called one of the great boxers of the world?

In the meantime, before finally deciding to go into the welterweight division and take on Mayweather on the boxing ring, Amir Khan, the WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion, said that he still intends to have one more bout at 140lb, most likely with Lamont Peterson, this upcoming December. However, it looks like he need to change his plans and instead of facing Peterson, he must face Vargas instead if he wants to achieve his ultimate goal. Jessie Vargas is a 22-year old boxer who is under Mayweather’s wing. As far as I can see it, it seems like  Floyd Mayweather Jr. is looking for more reasons to avoid fighting Manny Pacquiao next. But this is just my intuition. Whatever Floyd Mayweather’s plan is, I stillam going to watch Ortiz vs Mayweather Fight Live online this coming September 17, 2011 which will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
