Before the mega fight between two great boxers Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Victor Ortiz, let us first familiarize ourselves with the newly recognized great boxer who will fight the highly controversial one. Probably all of you already know who Floyd Mayweather Jr. is because of the controversies being thrown to him like being a coward of fighting Pacquiao and being suspended for not fighting for a year. How about Victor Ortiz? Some of you probably know something about him, but that does not include the whole world. Victor Ortiz is a 24-year old Mexican-American professional boxer who came from Garden City, Kansas and he is currently holding the title of being the WBC World Welterweight Champion. He was previously in the Light Welterweight division where he held the USBA title and the WBO NABO title. He was also made the 2008 ESPN Prospect of the Year because of his crowd-pleasing, aggressive style, two-fisted power and boyish charm. As of now, at the very young age of 24, Ortiz already had a total number of 33 fights with 29 wins, 2 losses, and 22 wins by means of knockout. It was said that at the very young age of ten, Ortiz already started to enter the training in boxing and while training at a Salvation Army Red Shield Community Center, he was noticed by former heavyweight boxing contender Ron Lyle, who had become a supervisor at the center. And this is where his journey to success had started.
